By accessing and using MyCouncilTaxCheck services ("Service"), you accept and agree to be bound by these terms and conditions. If you do not agree to these terms, you must not use our Service.

2. Service description

MyCouncilTaxCheck provides council tax band evidence analysis and preparation support. Our services include:

• Postcode-level band guidance (free check)
• Council tax band evidence analysis reports
• Comparable-property evidence summaries
• Appeal preparation guidance and templates (Appeal Support Pack)

We do not submit appeals on your behalf, and we do not guarantee any band change, refund, or savings outcome. The relevant authority or tribunal makes decisions independently.

3. User obligations

You agree to:

• Provide accurate and complete information
• Maintain the confidentiality of your account
• Notify us immediately of any unauthorized access
• Use the Service only for lawful purposes
• Not attempt to circumvent any security measures

4. Data protection and privacy

4.1 Data collection

We collect and process personal data in accordance with GDPR and UK Data Protection Act 2018:

• Name and contact information
• Property address and postcode
• Payment information
• Usage analytics and preferences

4.2 Legal basis for processing

• Contract performance (providing our services)

5. Payment terms

5.1 Pricing

All prices are displayed in GBP and include applicable VAT.

• Free band check: £0
• Evidence Report: £14.99 (one-time payment)
• Appeal Support Pack: £59.99 (one-time payment) — includes Evidence Report materials plus appeal preparation templates and guidance. You remain responsible for reviewing content and submitting any appeal to the relevant authority.

5.2 Payment processing

Payments are processed securely through Stripe. We do not store your full card details.

5.3 Refund policy

Refunds may be available within 14 days where:

• The paid report or pack was not delivered or could not be accessed due to a service fault
• A technical issue on our side prevented access to purchased materials
• A material factual error in the delivered report is confirmed after review

Refunds are not offered based on the outcome of any council tax band review, appeal, or challenge.

6. Intellectual property

All content, reports, and materials provided by MyCouncilTaxCheck are our intellectual property. You may not:

• Reproduce or distribute our reports without permission
• Use our data for commercial purposes
• Reverse engineer our algorithms
• Remove copyright notices

7. Liability limitations

7.1 Service warranty

While we strive for accuracy, we cannot guarantee:

• Successful council tax band appeals
• Specific savings amounts
• Immediate processing by local authorities

7.2 Limitation of liability

Our liability is limited to the amount you paid for the Service. We are not liable for:

• Indirect or consequential damages
• Loss of income or savings
• Third-party actions or decisions

8. Termination

8.2 By us

We may suspend or terminate access if you:

• Breach these terms
• Engage in fraudulent activity
• Abuse our Service or staff

9. Changes to terms

Continued use after changes constitutes acceptance.

10. Dispute resolution

These terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales.
